These threads are strategically placed beneath the skin to anchor and mechanically lift areas like the cheeks, jawline, jowls, and neck—instantly improving facial contours and stimulating long-term collagen production. Compared to smooth threads, COG threads provide stronger lifting power, making them ideal for more noticeable lifting effects without the need for surgery. COG threads are dissolvable threads made of materials like PDO (Polydioxanone), PLLA, or PCL. What makes them different is their barbed or cogged structure, which allows the thread to grip the skin tissue more effectively than smooth threads. These barbs act like tiny anchors under the skin, lifting and repositioning the tissue while also stimulating collagen production for longer-term tightening and rejuvenation.
